Excel - pivot tables ?

Pivot tables have always been one of my pet hates. As your other answerer has directed you to another site, the Wikpedia one, you can see what the result can be. It's really a question of playing around to get the results you want. However, I always think if you know the results you want, it is so much easier to filter the information, use sort and subtotals etc or better still export the spreadsheet into Access where you can create reports which I find much easier. However, I suppose this doesn't answer your question, but just gives you suggestions as to alternatives.
