Cell phone signal interference?

does cell phone signals affected by water flow. i have a headset which i use most of the times. But if im cooking and talking on phone every time i turn on the tap the signal loses or whatever i cant hear the other end at all and if i turn off the tap then the signal is available again. So i was wondering if there is any disturbance caused due to water flow to the phone signal
